Robinson House Groundbreaking Ceremony

Williamsburg, VA – (December 16, 2024) – Williamsburg REALTORS® proudly participated in the Groundbreaking Ceremony for the Robinson family’s new home on December 16th. This milestone marks a significant step in a journey that began in 2022. After three years of dedicated fundraising efforts, the Williamsburg REALTORS® Raising The Roof project has entered its final stages, with the Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony now on the horizon.
The event was a heartwarming celebration of collaboration and gratitude, bringing together key contributors who made this achievement possible, including Habitat for Humanity Peninsula and Greater Williamsburg, James City County, Williamsburg Realtors members, partners, and sponsors.
Elizabeth Walthall, Immediate Past President of Williamsburg REALTORS®, delivered a heartfelt speech expressing gratitude to the REALTOR® community, Habitat for Humanity Peninsula and Greater Williamsburg, and the Greater Williamsburg Area community at large for their unwavering support of the project. Together, these efforts culminated in raising $110,000 through the Williamsburg REALTORS® Raising the Roof campaign.
The final remarks came from Sandra Robinson herself, who shared her appreciation for the opportunity to build a stable, affordable home. She reflected on the transformative impact this home would have, providing stability and creating generational wealth for her family.
The ceremony concluded with a symbolic moment as participants gathered to break ground, marking the beginning of construction with a collective sense of hope and achievement.
